Hmmm, remember this post? It must be something about this time of year, because our family has grown again.

We’ve been talking about it on and off since October. We’re suckers, what can I say? Even though we said, “we’re not getting another cat again for awhile,” when Tortellini died in September, it wasn’t easy. She’d been in our family for 13 years and L1 is a die-hard cat fan. Then when Kerry’s family got their new kitty, he was all about a new one for our family.
So far, so good. The kitty on the right is a sweet little girl with a beautiful purr, long legs, and an adventurous nature. She hated being in the carrier on the way home from our Humane Society, she just cried and clawed at it the entire way home. In fact, if I hadn’t been holding onto the box, she would have toppled it over in her desperate attempts to reach freedom. Her voice has led to her name, Piper.

The little boy with the grey spots is also a sweetie, with one green eye and one blue eye. While Piper is an explorer, this boy is a little ball of playing energy. His prankster nature has led to his name, Loki.

For now they’re both isolated away from Jasper. He doesn’t seem to mind the new smells. As long as we leave him “his” couch, all is right. And, of course, we keep the loving flowing toward him.

I’m in love with your Loki ! This mythical name fits very well his mysterious non-pareil eyes !
OH MY STARS!!! They are too cute. I am lovin’ Loki. That round head and fluffy, fluffiness. I could eat them.
Congrats on the new additions! They are both beautiful, and Loki’s eyes are super cool. My dog’s best friend is named Loki, and watch out- a BIG personality comes with that name! Are they from the same litter or could you just not leave without a set of two?
Aw, they are too adorable. I love Loki’s different color eyes!
Holly- We went with the intention of getting two kittens as companions. The ideal would be that they would be siblings. Loki had a brother who was also sweet, but seemed less out-going/interested in people. Piper was one of three, and though her sisters were very amusing to watch as they explored and played, they ignored us. Piper went and hung out near L1. We figured that with our high-energy household we needed kittens that weren’t skittish, but that also seemed to like us as well. We felt bad about splitting up the siblings, but our adoption counselor said they would be fine. And oh, are they! Last night L1 found the two curled up together sleeping under our bed. Now we just have to get them to like Jasper!
