I won. It might have taken two months, but I won. The serger and I were having disagreements about whether or not it could actually do a rolled hem on the organic cotton knit fabric which I had fashioned into a shirt for my shop. In November I was practically in tears over it. Today I felt triumphant.
I’m deciding whether or not it’s “good enough” to be put in my shop. If so, then I’ll need someone to model it for a photoshoot, edit all the photos and list it. That might be my least favorite part. (Today Kerry modeled for me in the few minutes I had before my “work time” was up and I had to get L4 from school.)
I’ll be working on cutting out other sizes and colors in the next few weeks.
I’m nervous, like when I shared my first paintings. But. . .

hey look… there is my butt! LOL… the shirt turned out wonderful. You should be proud of yourself. You ventured outside your comfort zone and survived… and that makes it “good enough”. Take a deep breath… and yes, I will model for you, lol… just need a different color on my skin!
I love it!! Keep us posted on your progress – I’ll definitely be placing an order!!
And cute butt, Kerry! 😉
it’s fantastic 🙂
I’ve been fighting with my serger — in tears — but my fight is just to keep it threaded 😦 ONE of the threads will NOT say in anymore — and I CANNOT figure it out… I should have somebody who knows serger look at it – it’s probably simple enough… it’s been used like 3 times so far…
I have knit fabric i was dying to use with it — but ended up using it on my regular machine this week…!!
A serger?!?!?! I can’t imagine owning one of those. I love the shirt. Great modeling job to your friend.
I think you did a great job! I would love to own one someday 🙂

I love the shirt, the way it fits and hangs! Great job!
Thank you, thank you, everyone! I rode the wave of excitement yesterday and bought more serger thread so I can actually make more in other colors.
Julia–I researched sergers a bit before buying one, and decided to go for it in the end because of the amount of clothing I like to make. A portion of a tax-return bought it for me almost two years ago. I love it, even when we don’t quite get along.
Kerry–Have you lost weight??? Nice butt! Totally cute shirt. I’ll take one. I like the brown. Or maybe a deep red?
Congrats on taming the serger! I know how that goes:)
The shirt looks great! Love the sleeves and the neck line!
