I got exactly what I wanted for mother’s day. I spent most of the day out in the food garden, digging, planting, and weeding. The jeans I was wearing, while fine when I am standing or walking, or even sitting, kept falling down when I was bending and doing all of the other activities in the garden. (Why? Because of the weight I’ve lost from lifting & eating better over the past year+. Thanks for all of the advice and support inkwench!) Thus, the butt-crack. No problem when I’m in the far backyard, but when I was getting water from the faucet up in the front of the house… We live on a busy road. Hopefully I wasn’t sharing too much of myself with the world, but it couldn’t be helped as I was lugging water and trying to keep kids herded.
I don’t have pictures of the food garden because it probably wouldn’t look all that impressive. Lots of little seedlings all over the place. But I’m happy because almost everything is planted now in that garden, which is great. I still need to put in the carrot seeds and the nasturdium seeds, but I’ll get to that this week. I even got to plant flower seedlings in my hanging baskets. There are still a bunch of flower seedlings to plant in the ground, and more flower seeds to simply plant, but that garden bed that we were supposed to work on last weekend is still only about 1/4 turned over. We are avoiding it.
It will be bath and bedtime soon, then I’ll be able to spend the end of mother’s day relaxing. I plan on soaking my feet and giving myself a pedicure (or convincing L1 to give it to me!) and knitting while listening to an audio-book (Forever in Blueof the Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants. What can I say? I like teeny-bopper books and movies.). Tomorrow I’ll post about knitting, including Sockapalooza. And maybe a little about sewing, too.
