After seeing yet another beautiful crafting space online I was inspired to channel some of my energy toward creating a space of my own. When Lady Kenmore isn’t in use she is stored in the attic, along with all of the spare fabric, thread, pins, scissors, etc. After convincing L1 of my plan (he’s a good partner, it wasn’t too difficult) I started cleaning out the desk unit that currently holds our desktop pc. It is a unit we purchased from IKEA when we lived in NH, where our living room was also our office space and L3 was a baby getting into everything. It has doors that closed it off from L3 and the rest of our lives when we didn’t want to see it. It is somewhat big for our current office space, which also doubles as our guest room. So now I get it for (some of) my craft stuff. It will be housed in our upstairs hallway, which has a lovely little alcove in it. The drawback is that I won’t have a window right next to me, but I will have light from L4’s bedroom and the other rooms, too.
Here are some pictures of the space (before and after). The beads hanging in the armoire are from KABS (see blog on right). Someday I’ll make something out of them. . . or maybe ask KAB herself to make something for me!
Blah, it was such a mess before. Now the computer desk is a much better setup.
Here are some of the things I’ve been sewing lately. Sitting here typing, I’m excited about the space. This feels like another “beginning.”
From left to right: summer outfit for L4, A’s wish quilt square, summer shirt for me, dress for L4, Avast edge and shot of Avast up to the arm holes (now I’m working on the first sleeve).
