Today I finally was able to get to Craft Bits and Pieces. It is a craft store where all the of the items have been donated, the staff are volunteers, and all sales go to fund programs for the senior citizens of a nearby town. The store has an amazing variety of supplies, from knitting and fabric to doll and scrap-booking supplies. There is a large collection of buttons and embroidery floss, hoops, and so many other fun things. Here is what I brought home today, for less than $20:
In the top picture:
- So much fabric!
- Buttons, zippers, and bias tape
- Carbon paper and a tracing wheel
- Embroidery floss and a hoop (the hoop is L4’s “circle” that she wears over her body and dances with)
- a bag of wooden beads and wooden sticks
The bottom picture is one of the fabrics purchased, opened out in all of its glory. There was 5.5 yards of it, but I only got about 1 yard of it. I already have plans for one of the squares. If I’m lucky, I’ll get to do it tomorrow.
Many of the items already have intended uses, and the others are for winter dreaming. It was a shopping experience that felt good on so many levels. Thanks for meeting us there, KAB!!
