I suppose it isn’t really a dilemma. I would like to purchase the most recent issue of Yoga Journal. But it isn’t an essential. I had thoughts of just getting it at the grocery store tomorrow, thus making it part of the grocery purchases. But that would be cheating. True that none of you would have known had I not just typed it, but I would have known. I paged through the current issue in the library yesterday, but since it is a current issue, I can’t take it out. If I wait until the Challenge is over, the issue will be gone. But, I could just get it out of the library at that point, and perhaps copy the article(s) of interest? (Is that okay? Would I be violating copyright law?) In the end, it isn’t a dilemma because I don’t need the magazine and I do have access to it without purchasing it. What I needed was to make the public commitment about it. For those of you who don’t know, I was a social psychologist in another life (I still have the degree and all, just not working right now) so I know how important making public commitments can be to help one stick with a behavior.
Feel free to leave comments about my silly dilemma, just don’t be too harsh, okay? 🙂
