Yesterday a slim padded envelope awaited me in the mailbox. It contained 10 fabric scraps, one of which was from my own collection, for a new challenge I’ve joined. JCasa:Handmade is hosting a Scrap Challenge.
Each participant sent her a 12″ x 12″ fabric scrap, then she cut them up randomly, and created groups of ten fabrics and sent them back out to people. So, you received a piece of what you sent, plus 9 other people in your group. We’re supposed to create something with the scraps in 1-2 weeks and post pictures of our creations on the flickr group here. Last night I lay in bed thinking about what I’d do, then it changed completely as I started sketching this morning. Who knows what it will evolve into next? I’m looking forward to this challenge because it is making me break out of my mold of, “make something practical, useful, etc.”
If you had to design a creative challenge for yourself, what would it include?
