I’m in again! Our house pledges to keep the temperature at 59 degrees during the day (when two of us are home!), up to 62 for late afternoon/evening, and back down to 59 (possibly lower?) overnight, with the heat up to 62 again for a couple of hours in the morning. We live in zone 6, near the shores of Lake Ontario.
And to any guests that may visit during the winter months–we promise to turn it up a little for you or to be sure you have plenty of warm food, layers, and blankets to keep you warm. How many of you are in?!? There are so many good reasons to do this: limited resources, environmental impact, economic impact, ingenuity. . . the list could continue. (Feel free to add a reason yourself!)
BTW–this is what we do normally, anyway. But public commitments are good. And I might even share about the days when I crack and turn the thermastat up to 61 during the day because my hands just can’t stand it anymore. But maybe these new mitts I’m making will help that:
I have the first one done and will start the second one soon now that I have finished another project. More on that later.
