Last week my girl attended her first birthday party and was beside herself with excitement about it and the gift she had for her classmate. When it came time for me to package up the gift she said , “Mama, it needs to be wrapped.” Then off to school went she & I traced pattern pieces and went along my merry way. About an hour before I had to start gathering she & her brother from their perspective schools and heading to the party I decided to ready the gift for giving. No bags nor wrapping paper were to be found. We keep a store of those things in the attic for the holidays, but otherwise don’t have much. And so before the panic set in I went with my original plan, to make a bag for the gift. And so I did. L4 was thrilled with the end result, and now the birthday boy has a bag, “he can use for anything he wants, Mama!”

LOVE IT TO BITS when crafty handmade receives the kid thumbs up!
I’m definitely looking more creatively at wrapping gifts this year for holidays/birthdays/and such. I love that bag!
I love this, such a great eco-friendly way to wrap a gift. 🙂
Wow, how neat that you made what looks to be a very special bag to go with her giftl. Beautiful
what a great solution- and an additional gift.
I was tickled happy with the bag & did see it as an additional gift. I was so pleased that my girl did, too.
