. . . and weeks and months, I finally cut into a soft rubber block to make a stamp this weekend.
I’ve been thinking about and wanting to try this for years. Then I received Printing by Hand by Lena Corwin and was even more inspired. I still have only read a couple of chapters out of this book, but what a treasure trove!
I loved the process of carving just as much as I thought I would. Maybe I had some inkling of how much I would enjoy it due to the rudimentary wood carving I would do to decorate my hiking stick as a teen? Whether it was past experience, intuition, or something else, I am so glad I finally took this step.
The ink I currently have is not the right type for the job, but it gave me an idea of what the printing process would be like. I’m excited to continue on with this new path of exploration. I’ve got big plans.
