We’ve got big plans for our summer, and I thought I’d document them on the blog as a reminder for our family and to see what you’d all like to do, too. Share in the comments, please! Who knows, maybe it will end up on our list, which is far from exhaustive. I’ve made a page for it so that when we have moments of “we don’t know what to do!” we may simply click and see all the things we said we wanted to do this summer.Β We’ll be celebrating this Father’s Day and last day of spring with good food with family, a baseball game in town, and more good food along with many hugs and kisses for the daddies of the day.

I love your list and the idea of making a public, accessible list to refer to later. I usually do this myself, but its not as open as this. You have some great ideas π I may refer to this later in the summer if we get bored. Want any company, let us know π
If you ever need company, too, let us know! Each summer I usually make themes or activities for each week. This year I thought just a list would be good, so I wouldn’t get all anxious if my “schedule” wasn’t adhered to well.
I love your list and am so glad you shared…I’ve been feeling panic that ‘it’s already June 21st and summer is almost over’. That irrational feeling that doesn’t allow one to enjoy the moment. Your list completely brought me back and made me want to do something similar to post in front of my computer reminding me to do something fun each and every day. I hope you and your family get to do every single thing on this list and so much more this summer!
Oh, Rachel, I am with you about that feeling of panic! I think this list is helping to ground me so I don’t get trapped in those thoughts, which especially hit me around August 1st…. It’s all an opportunity to be more present, right?
Great list, since I am local I will be taking some of your ideas. You must check out the berry farm on Salt Road.
I went over to your flickr page and saw a pic of L4 in a backpack type carrier, where did you get that? What brand is it? Pete already hikes, and I want to join in on the fun, that would be the perfect thing to carry JH with.
Happy Solstice~
Katie, thanks for the heads up about the berry farm.
The backpack is from REI, we bought it when L3 was a little over a year old. JH is probably still small enough to be comfortable in it and to be comfortable to carry, too. We were actually going to sell ours since neither of our babies can ride in it anymore! Let me know if you’d be interested in looking at it sometime.
What is the weight limit? I would like to come look at it! Send me an email when you get a chance and let me know a good time to stop over and what price you were thinking.
THanks π
Lovely ideas-you’ll be busy! Some of mine- walk the three nearby piers in Webster and Charlotte, make real homemade lemonade, collect and preserve my herbs for the winter. My boys used to love trying to catch fireflies when they were younger, actually they’d probably still find it fun!
Mary Ellen–you always give me such good ideas for things to do!
We love to try and catch fireflies, too. I haven’t seen any yet, but haven’t really been looking either. I should add that to our list! π
